We’re in full fall and Halloween mode around here! Decorations are placed, Mother Nature is turning her thermostat down, and treats are being prepared. Sweetpea Smiles loves holidays that embrace kids’ imaginations and fun! Happy Halloween and fall to all of our little sweetpeas! Here are some great suggestions for teeth-friendly treats to feed your child, so they don’t miss out on the fun, but still keep it healthy!

  • Dark chocolate covered strawberries- To prepare: melt dark chocolate; dip a clean strawberry in the yumminess. Place the chocolaty smothered strawberry on wax paper and let it harden. If you want to make it even more festive and healthy, sprinkle crushed nuts on top to add some protein to the treat!
  • Roasted pumpkin seeds- Not only are these seeds delicious to eat, but they are fun to make and packed with healthy nutrients. Make a messy mess with your little one as you dig your hands down into the pumpkin to retrieve the slimy seeds. Wash and dry the seeds and then dip them into a mixture of 2 tsp. of melted butter and 2 tsp. of honey and 1 tsp. of salt. Bake at 350 for 15 minutes and enjoy! While enjoying your seeds carve a funny face into the emptied pumpkin!
  • Grape worm (or caterpillar) kabobs- Using green grapes and kabob sticks, place clean grapes onto the sticks. Place two dabs of white icing on the top grape and a dark chocolate chip on the dabs. These will act as the eyes of your invertebrate. Enjoy your wiggly treats!

Sweetpea Smiles would like to remind you that during this time, it’s important to maintain your regular dental habits of good brushing and flossing with your sweetpeas. In addition, ensure that you’re booking routine preventative and comprehensive dental treatment appointments.Posted on behalf of Sweetpea SmilesFollow us Google+Find Us on FacebookFollow Us on Twitter
